This book is simply fantastic! It does a great job of mixing both a concrete objective and an overarching longer story arc that can be mixed in, if you so desire. It is super easy to work one of these adventures into an existing campaign. With a little introduction, it is almost plug and play. And the format is designed in a way that you can graft your own side quests into the mix very easily. You could even use this as your one-stop shop and make a mini-campaign out of it. They've introduced a potnetial antagonist and kept some of the details intentionally high-level, so the DM can turn it to whatever fits best in their game. Jeff has created something extremely useful in almost any situation. I highly recommend this book and plan to use it frequently in my games.

What a great encounter! It weaves together an interesting predicament with plenty of gray area based on the actions of the characters. Then it adds a nice little twist at the end. If you need a quick encounter for a session or want to switch things up a bit, this would be easy to prepare and run and will make your players consider their actions.

If you are looking for a nautical adventure to add to your campaign, you would do well to consider this one. It is extremely well-written adventure and very easy to run. Great notes and suggestions from the writer concerning transitions and the important points of each section. Loved the use of motivation for the enemies and tactics that make sense instead of they just fight until they die.

Is it somewhat simplistic? Yes. Is it creative? Yes. Does it create a whole lot of fun RP for your group? Yes. This is a very unique encounter. An inventive group that likes to RP will have a blast with it. The purpose is clear, the characterizations are well explained, and the encounters can be more than just "Kill!". It is short and perfect for a lighthearted side quest.

Hero Kids is great! I bought this a little while ago and finally sat down and played it with my almost 4 yo. He absolutley loved it. He loves playing with dice anyway and immediately wanted to create his own characters with their own powers, so it was great to have the extra empty stat blocks. He absolutely loved knocking down the paper standee rats on the map and was very worried about Roger. Afterward, he helped to heal the rats with his potions and made them promise to be good from now on and then they invited them back up to the tavern for a birthday party. This was simple and a great way to spend some quality time with my creative child. He actually stayed in his seat the whole time, too. Although, during most of it, he was jumping up and down.
Thank you for making this and we look forward to picking up more volumes. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an entry level TTRPG for a younger audience. With a little instruction, it was easy enough for a 3 year old to understand and very simple to run.

This is a nice collection of random tables. Some are a bit silly (What's on the end of the stick?), some are useful in a pinch (quick NPCs and hirelings), some are useful and I hadn't thought of before (The skeletons are commanded to...), and some are mehhh (coins on a corpse). There are some clever ideas that I plan on using in my sessions. I'm quite satisfied with my purchase, as it gave me some ideas that I had never thought of before.

This book was great and has practical tips and suggestions that worked for the author. While things continue to change in the industry, and the formula that he followed may not produce the same results (the author is also a pretty darn good adventure writer, so he is starting from an advantage), it does outline some good principles for TTRPG publishing and adventure writing in general.

I purchased this from the Kickstarter and you get exactly what is described, 4 mini dice games that you can use however you want. Are these mind-blowing in their novelty? No. But they are clever and a change of pace and completely in the style of an old Zine. This is a PWYW right now and it is certainly worth the asking price at $0.99.

This adventure was a lot of fun with a Christmas twist. We had a good time running through it for a quick one-shot change of pace.
